Meridian Trust schools are training schools. We believe in extending the boundaries of learning for all, including adults. Meridian Trust has been involved in training teachers since its inception and we continue to believe in the importance of developing the next generation of teachers. Trainees are welcomed into our schools and supported by skillful and experienced mentor teachers.
You can train with The Cambridge Partnership SCITT or CTSN SCITT both of which are closely connected to Meridian Trust and share our aim to get the best teachers teaching subjects they are passionate about and inspiring future generations in our region. If you want to train in a Meridian Trust school the best chance of doing this is through one of our two SCITTs but we also offer trainee teachers placements from local university ITT programmes.
Early years of your Meridian Trust career
Meridian Trust schools have a long history of supporting new teachers and providing a stimulating, enriching and supportive environment in which early career teachers can flourish. We have an extensive programme of trust wide support, introducing new colleagues to our schools, values and key staff while we also fully implement the DfE’s Early Career Framework releasing all new teachers for training and providing support and training for mentors.
Meridian Trust encourages and supports its teachers to complete academic research either small scale lesson study to refine the teaching of a particular group or even child, or a more significant research project leading to a Masters in Education.
We believe in providing support and challenge for all its staff to have a fulfilling and enriching career. We sponsor teachers to complete National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) or recognised CPD through our teaching school network. Ultimately these qualifications lead to a thriving, enquiring professional environment and happy, successful learners of all ages.
