The doors of Oakley Primary Academy will open to prospective parents and their children for the school’s early years open event.
Due to Government restrictions, last year’s open events had to be held in a virtual environment and so Oakley Primary Academy’s Principal Sarah Litchfield, is very much looking forward to welcoming prospective parents in person.
Held on Saturday, 6th November from 1pm to 3pm, parents will have the opportunity to speak to staff, tour the school and see the facilities they have on offer.
Principal Sarah Litchfield said: “It will be wonderful to be able to welcome parents into our school for the open day after the disruption to holding in person events over the last few years.
“We thought about holding it on a weekday, but we felt opening on a autumnal Saturday afternoon would allow more parents, who perhaps work during the week, to visit us and talk to our teaching staff.
“Joining Oakley Primary Academy during early years offers many benefits to children. Through following the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance which sets the standards for learning, development and care of children from birth to age five, we pride ourselves on having a very strong curriculum offer led by our excellent teaching staff who are passionate for delivering these learning experiences.
Visitors to the open event will be encouraged to take a lateral flow test before the event and wear face coverings while in the school building.
The school recently joined Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) along with the other four schools from the Sharnbrook Academy Federation. These including neighbouring Lincroft Academy.
Jane Dooley, Executive Principal for Primary at CMAT, added: “The addition of Oakley Primary Academy and the other former SAF school has been wonderful for CMAT.
“The team at Oakley Primary Academy do a fantastic job to support children with their learning from a very young age. I hope as many prospective parents as possible are able to attend the open event as this superb school that is at the heart of the Oakley village community.”
