More than 2,000 Year 7 students from across CMAT’s secondary schools tuned in to hear from actor, comedian, and television presenter, Ed Petrie.
On the virtual session, Ed spoke to our students around the theme of ‘Transition and Change’. He shared his own experience of school, as well as giving valuable tips and advice. Topics covered included top tips for being organised in secondary school, how to build confidence, and what to expect over the first years of secondary schools.

“Arriving at secondary school can be a nervous experience, but we’re committed to ensuring that each and every young person in our care thrives and leaves as a successful learner, confident individual, and responsible and employable citizen.”
Founded in 2010 by ITV’s Political Editor, Robert Peston, Speakers for Schools aims to end educational inequality by giving all young people access to the same networks.
The project has already reached over 1,000,000 students nationwide through school talks and work experience programmes.
