Almost 200 people gathered at The Fleet Centre in Peterborough to celebrate The Cambridge Partnership’s latest round of trainees, who have now achieved their Qualified Teacher Status. This is the first time since Covid-19 that the partnership has been able to organise an in-person certificate presentation making the event even more special.
The celebration began with an introduction from Director of The Cambridge Partnership, Richard Davies. Guests were then treated to a presentation from guest speaker, Richard Spencer, Executive Principal at Meridian Trust. This was followed by a presentation of certificates to the trainees and tea, coffee and cakes for everyone.
Richard Davies, Director of The Cambridge Partnership, said: “It was fantastic to bring our trainees and their families together for this lovely event. There was an overwhelming sense of pride in the room, particularly after such a hard few years, alongside lots of positivity and excitement about the careers they are about to embark on. The training year is always challenging, however the last few years even more so, given COVID, the disruption to face-to-face training and the ongoing impacts on schools. This year’s cohort, like last year and the year before have approached everything with enthusiasm and a ‘can do’ attitude and have shown amazing resilience throughout.”
The Cambridge Partnership works to provide inspirational teachers and future school leaders for a significant area of the East of England. Centred in Cambridgeshire, the organisation has developed strong partnerships with schools across the region including Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Essex, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Hertfordshire.
