Inspectors found that “all pupils enjoy many excellent opportunities” and that “pupils build up their character in a rich way” with “deep leadership skills.”
Inspectors report that the school is “a supportive community which pupils enjoy attending” and pupils “benefit from positive working relationships with adults and learn in a safe environment.”
Jim Stavrou, Headteacher, said: “I am privileged to lead a team of excellent staff and students here at Swavesey Village College and we are all very proud of the findings of this report. Inspectors spent a considerable amount of time in lessons in a variety of subjects and spoke with many students, teachers, academy council members and trustees. As a result, this report is a strong reflection of the vision and quality of education we provide for all our students.
“I am delighted that inspectors praised not only our curriculum and quality of education, but have highlighted our safeguarding processes, the support we offer to our students with special educational needs and the highly positive outcomes our students gain during their time with us. This news is very positive, but we will not be complacent about the results of this inspection and will continue to strive to ensure that Swavesey Village College delivers the very best possible school experience for all students.”
Mark Woods, Chief Executive Officer of Meridian Trust, said: “We are proud of the staff and students at Swavesey Village College and across the Trust who have worked hard to create the school described in this report. We are particularly pleased to see so much praise for the college’s personal development and PLEDGES programmes which are common features in the curriculum of many Meridian schools. The college’s continued success is a reflection of the trust’s commitment to providing a high-quality education for everyone, at the heart of local communities – a mission which began at Swavesey Village College and continues to be embodied by the school.”
