Meridian Trust proudly celebrated its post-16 results today, with excellent achievements across its schools and sixth forms. Students across the Trust are looking forward to starting university, apprenticeships and employment, taking the next exciting steps in their education and careers.
Abbey College’s Year 13 cohort’s dedication is reflected in their shining results. Emily is going on to study Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Other standout achievements include Freya, who will be continuing her study of Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Birmingham; Katie, who is joining Bedfordshire Constabulary on its degree apprenticeship pathway; and Jasper, who will follow his passion for Engineering by joining Marshall Aerospace.
Students at Bishop Laney Sixth Form received another set of brilliant results, with top achievers including Anastasia Akritidou, who will be continuing her education at Durham University; Mae Hickford, who will be continuing her education with a degree-level apprenticeship in accountancy locally; and Edward Marygold, who will be continuing his education at the University of Leicester, studying Engineering.
Many Greater Peterborough UTC students achieved the grades they need to begin highly sought-after university courses, apprenticeships and career pathways. Standout results include Maimuna Hussian, who will be studying Optometry at Cardiff University; Ryan Fisher, who will be studying as a Game Programmer at The Game Assembly; Riley Beckett, who will be going to Kingston University to study Aerospace Engineering; and Evelina Markeviciute, who has secured a degree-level apprenticeship in Civil Engineering at Skanska.
Northstowe Sixth Form celebrated a landmark moment as it received the College’s first-ever set of post-16 results, in the company of Paul Bristow, Combined Mayor of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. Among Northstowe’s top achievers were Matthew Andrews, Elen Griffiths-Jones, Evie Ray, Mia-Rose Drake, Poppy Dowling and Livi Boyle, who had the highest overall progress in Year 13.
Sixth form students at Nene Park Academy received a brilliant set of results, with many students meeting or exceeding their target grades, including Charlotte Radburn, Katie Yule, Olivia Hill, Grajan Golec, Holly Plummer and India Worman.
Sharnbrook Academy proudly celebrated its post-16 results, with students securing places at universities, apprenticeships and employment opportunities across the country. Charlie Ephgrave will progress to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Warwick, while Holly Noble will read Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. In addition to university destinations, many students, including Ruby Maziak, Max Foley, Maja Poniatowska and Cara Riding, have secured prestigious apprenticeships.
Matt King Sixth Form students at Stratton School received the school’s best post-16 results in five years. A few of the students who achieved great results today include Lilly Marsden, who will go to Lancaster University to study Software Engineering; Zoe Kernan, who will read Chemistry at the University of York; and Jack Catherall, who will read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of York.
The Year 13 cohort at Sawtry Village Academy received post-16 results to be proud of, with top performers including Robert Kennedy, who will progress to joining the Navy as a Petty Officer in Air Engineering; Kiera Thompson, who will progress to the University of Manchester to study Dentistry; and Sofie Turner, who will progress to Anglia Ruskin University to study Criminology.
In only its second year as a standalone sixth form provision, The Ferrers School has seen exam results improve again for students. All students have secured excellent destinations for their next steps, including Will Baker, who will be reading Physics with Theoretical Physics at the University of Manchester; Ava Odell, who will be studying Law at the University of Sheffield; and Harry Long, who will go on to study Journalism at the University of Leeds.
