Soaring success: Trampolining Hub Event empowers students to reach new heights

Over the course of a three-day event, 24 students from Nene Park Academy, Greater Peterborough UTC and Stamford Welland Academy immersed themselves in an intensive trampolining experience.

Under the guidance of two dedicated coaches, both British Gymnastics qualified, students explored the art of trampoline technique and honed their abilities.

With an initial focus on capturing footage for GCSE purposes, the event transformed into an exciting opportunity for skill-building, routine creation, and personal development after students expressed their interest in a more competitive direction for the sessions.

Adaptability was key, and the coaches were able to swiftly adjust the event to cater to the needs and aspirations of the attending students.

Over the course of the first day and a half, students embarked on a journey of mastering new skills – from front drops to swivel hips. The second half of day two marked a transition to routine building, where students learnt a range of routines that they would later perform in front of their peers. The final day was a culmination of their hard work, as students eagerly perfected their routines and performed them.

Stepping up the challenge, all students fearlessly performed their routines twice in front of the entire group. The applause and encouragement from their peers fuelled their determination and confidence, with students demonstrating their prowess in true competition style.

The event concluded with a focus on honing some final skills, allowing students to leave with a sense of accomplishment and enhanced capabilities.

The event’s success demonstrates that educational initiatives extend beyond the traditional classroom setting, providing opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and the development of valuable skills.

We will continue to organise such events that provide our students with a holistic education and promote physical activities that engage and inspire.
