Meridian Trust once again celebrates a fantastic set of GCSE results following the success of last week’s A-level achievements.
Students across the Trust are looking forward to embarking on their next steps in education through sixth form, college or apprenticeships. To celebrate our schools’ achievements, we have included a round up for each.
Swavesey Village College once again celebrated an impressive set of GCSE results. Chen Liang, who achieved ten grade 9s, one grade 8, and a grade 7, was the College’s highest-achieving student. Josh Clarkson, Alice Fewtrell, Lucy Dalley, and Maddison Boulton-Nathan also all achieved eight grade 9s, with their remaining grades at grades 8 or 7. In GCSE Music, 50% of students received a grade 8 or 9, and in GCSE Art and Design, 45% gained those highest grades.
Zaara Ahmed at North Cambridge Academy shone brightly, accomplishing eleven qualifications, including six grade 9s in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and History, as well as Level 2 Distinctions in Construction and Sport. Joy Eade was awarded ten qualifications, including five grade 9s in English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Art, as well as a Level 2 Distinction in Sport. Additionally, three standout students, Joy Eade, Chris Torvilla, and Ellie Creek, have been awarded fully funded scholarships to the Stephen Perse Foundation, thanks to their remarkable academic performance.
Students at Ely College achieved impressive GCSE results, reflecting their commitment to their studies. Lily H celebrated an amazing ten grade 9s and one grade 8, and Tommy L achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8 through hard work and dedication. The college also celebrated several students who made significant progress beyond expectations, including Cameron T, Lydia P, Alice H, Jakub O, Georgia H, and Natalie G.
Sharnbrook Academy students showed their resilience, securing the best set of results since becoming a secondary school in 2017. Ane Human achieved an impressive six grade 9s, three grade 8s, and two grade 7s, and Amelie Conneely achieved six grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, and a grade 6. Sophie Kokkat, Priscilla Mathuram, and Hassan Zghaibe achieved a fantastic five grade 9s amongst other grades, which is an outstanding accomplishment.
Stamford Welland Academy students celebrated an impressive set of GCSE results. Pippa Holtzhausen celebrated an excellent set of results, including three grade 9s, two Distinction*s, two grade 8s, and two grade 7s. Matthew Prescott, Jakub Michalowski, Leo Thompson, Maisie Booth, and Zoja Gajewska were also rewarded, with the students averaging grades 7–9 across their complement of GCSEs.
Lincroft Academy is celebrating some of the school’s best-ever GCSE results. Standout students include Zeerak Khan, Joel Langton, Lexi Maitland, Qasim Mohammed, and Blake Thornton, who achieved or exceeded their target grades in all their subjects across the curriculum. Exceptional individual attainment was achieved by several students, including Jayant Pandey, who achieved eight grade 9s and a grade 8, and Jesser Rodriguez, who achieved six grade 9s, two grade 8s, a grade 6, and a Distinction*.
Nene Park Academy’s top achievers include Reka Peto who achieved seven grade 9s, two grade 8s and a grade 7, Gracian Golec achieved nine grade 9s, two Distinction*s and a grade 8 whilst Katie Yule achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s and three grade 7s. Special mention goes to Sara Rodrigues, Stella De Santis, Szymon Pytlewski, Lewius Page, Nadia Minalto, Benjamin McWilliams-Marcano, Lucy Brear, Leah Roddis, Deimantas Rudys and Sienna Lorenzini, who made significant progress beyond expectations making an average of two grades higher across their entire suite of subjects than originally expected when they joined in Year 7.
Northstowe Secondary College has seen its inaugural cohort of Year 11 students achieve remarkable success. Northstowe’s highest achieving students were Daniel Smith and Lara Middleton who both achieved six grade 9s, Daniel also obtained four grades 8s and a grade 7, Lara also achieved 3 grade 8s and two grade 7s. Additional notable achievements include Sarah Kochuthara, achieved grade 8 in two language subjects. Karim Pascual and Michael Bielawski made the most progress of all our students over their time at Northstowe Secondary College.
Stratton School has seen a successful year for their GCSE results with approximately half of their students attained Level 4 or higher in five subjects, including English and Maths. Angel Usher achieved 10 grades at GCSE 7-9 including a 9 in Maths, Biology and Geography and Zoe Kernan who achieved nine grades at GCSE 7-9 including 9 in English Literature. A further notable achievement was Jack Catherall who achieved 10 grades at GCSE 7-9 including a 9 in Religious Studies.
Sawtry Village Academy received an impressive set of results. Particular successes include Maari Mallikondar, Ellie Karagholi and Kiera Thompson who all attained at least three grade 9s. The hard work and dedication of Robert Kennedy, Abigail Hart and Ellie Frost was also rewarded as the students averaged grade 8 across their complement of GCSEs.
The Ferrers School students have much to celebrate with an excellent set of GCSE and BTEC results. Viktorija Slavinskaite achieved outstanding results, with grades 8 and 9 across the board. The school is also delighted with Will Baker, Reuben Willetts, Burhan Rizwan, and George Lee, as they averaged over grade 7 across their complement of GCSEs. There has also been exceptional progress from Max King, Freya Lack, Jaydon Allen-Bramble, Kiera Burton, Daisy Harris, and Marty Dangerfield.
Students at Greater Peterborough UTC look forward to the future after the accomplishments seen today. There was a surge of success in core subjects, including science, with many students planning to stay on at the sixth form to pursue T-Levels. Top-performing students this year include Arian, who achieved five grade 9s, a Distinction*, and a grade 8; Ryan, who achieved a 9 in Maths, three 8s, one 7, two 5s, and a Merit; and Cotilda, who achieved one 9, two 8s, four 7s, and a Merit.
We are delighted to celebrate some great achievements across our special schools this year. Martin Bacon Academy is celebrating its first pupil to achieve a grade 5 in GCSE Maths, along with other qualifications. The Harbour School has also done well, with four students passing GCSE Science, four passing GCSE Maths, and two passing GCSE English Language. Additionally, every Year 11 student at The Harbour School has left with qualifications, showing the hard work of our students and staff.
