Northstowe Secondary College are delighted to announce the launch of their new Community Hub partnership with Norwich City FC Regional Development Partnership (RDP).
The initial two-year partnership will mean that Northstowe joins RDP’s existing Community Hub regional schools alongside Cambourne Village College, King’s Ely school and Mark Hall Sports Centre in Harlow.
The partnership will see Norwich City RDP staff based on the school’s site, available to give advice and support to students. It will also mean the school is the chosen venue for a wide range of holiday clubs, summer schools, after school clubs and training programmes run by the club, which will be a great use of the college’s new 3G pitch, which is sponsored by Specsavers.
Norwich City FC Regional Development Programme’s Managing Director, Alex Kaufman, said: “We are really excited to be working alongside Northstowe Secondary College to provide unique and positive experiences for students within the local area and beyond.
“At Norwich City RDP, we strive to develop high-quality provisions and provide excellent learning opportunities through sport which open up pathways to future careers in sport. We look forward to developing a strong relationship with Northstowe and to help enhance the great work that has already been established there.”
On the new partnership, Carole Moss, Headteacher at Northstowe Secondary College, said: “With these improved provisions and an enriching sports curriculum in place, we look forward to using these facilities to extend the boundaries of learning. This will create opportunities that will benefit our young people’s personal development and help them to gain a genuine passion for sport at a young age.
“Thank you Norwich City RDP for providing this unique opportunity to us. We look forward to seeing how this partnership will progress and the further benefits it will provide to our students and to the wider community.”
“We also have a new café, gym and fitness space opening soon to make the school site space even more accessible and are pleased to already see an increased demand for bookings and the sports facilities being used regularly by the community, as was the exciting vision for Northstowe when it was established.”
