Dozens of Trust leaders from across the country have been welcomed to Meridian Trust to share insights, best practice and see their schools in action as part of a Whole Education learning exchange.
Whole Education is a national network of schools, trusts, experts, and organisations that are united in the belief that children and young people deserve a fully rounded education.
The learning exchanges take place in different trusts across the school year, allowing school leaders to share their experiences and learn from each other, with the aim of improving standards of education across the country.
Meridian Trust hosted a two-day event which explored a range of different themes, including SEND, central services, models of leadership, and the chance to see and experience different primary and secondary schools in the Meridian Trust family.
Meridian Trust’s Chief Executive Officer kicked off the exchange by setting the scene and vision of the trust when it was originally discussed and formed in 2010, before explaining what has changed to create real economies of scale and embed the vision and values as the trust grows.
He said: “We are delighted to welcome friends and colleagues from other Trusts into our schools and share some of our processes, successes, and challenges. We have gained valuable knowledge and insight from visiting other trusts over the past years.
“Since the very beginning, our vision has been at the heart of everything we do – high quality education at the heart of local communities. This is what unites our schools, but we have always been keen to work in partnership with other schools, trusts and leaders who are aiming to create this in their own locations.
“We’ve learned as we’ve grown and are very proud of what we’ve achieved so far – but will never be complacent, constantly looking for ways to do things better for our students and communities in our pursuit of excellence.”
Whole Education’s leadership exchange visited a range of Meridian Trust’s academies including Sawtry Village Academy, Swavesey Village College, Northstowe Academy, Somersham Primary School, and Hatton Park Primary School.
