Excitement builds for Meridian Trust Performing Arts Festival 2026

One of the most anticipated events in the Meridian Trust calendar – The Performing Arts Festival – is just around the corner!

This year’s celebration will feature four Hub showcase events from primary schools across the Trust, and a grand Performing Arts Showcase Finale at Weldon Village Academy on Wednesday 8th July.

The Primary Showcases theme this year is Our World, Our Future, celebrating the voices, creativity, and imagination of our primary performers as they explore their relationship with the planet through the performing arts. By using music, movement, drama, and storytelling, each showcase empowers young people to express care for the Earth, reflect on the changes they see around them, and imagine a more sustainable future. Tickets are on sale from Friday 22nd May via links listed below.

Meridian Trust Arts Festival Finale Showcase at Weldon Village Academy – Wednesday 8th July 6:30pm – 9:00pm

The grand finale will be on Wednesday 8th July at Weldon Village Academy. Since 2019, this showcase has featured the best in music, dance and drama as well as the Meridian Trust Choir and Meridian Trust Jazz Orchestra – two cross-trust collaborative groups drawing students from all schools together.

This year’s showcase goes in a different direction with a narrative element based on Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. Scenes from the play will be interpreted by different schools as the event evolves whilst maintaining the collaborative element so successfully displayed in previous showcases. Tickets are available from Monday 8th June 2026
