The Meridian Trust IT Support and Services Team is gearing up for the next academic year with a number of projects underway to ensure that all sites are ready to go.
These projects include installing new wireless networks at six of our schools that fall within an Education Investment Area. This is a scheme funded by the Department for
Education called Connect the Classroom to provide eligible schools with a seamless and future-proof wireless networking solution.
These schools are Ely College, Downham Feoffees Primary Academy, The Harbour School, Lantern Community Primary School, Somersham Primary School and Northstowe Secondary College.
The funding from the Government totals £800,000 and there are plans for three more Meridian Trust schools to follow next year (Greater Peterborough UTC, Stratton Upper
School and Harrold Primary Academy).
The installation of new CCTV equipment is taking place across many of our school sites and some of our schools whose current phone system is through Skype will be moving
over to Microsoft Teams.
With the opening of Weldon Village Academy taking place this September, this site continues to be a priority for the team making sure all the IT infrastructure, systems and screens are in place ready for staff and students to use.
