Histon and Impington Park Primary School is celebrating a fantastic achievement after its Year 5 and Year 6 pupils delivered outstanding performances at the Cambridgeshire Primary Schools County Cross Country Relay Championships.
Competing against more than 120 teams from across the region, the Year 6 A-team secured an incredible second-place finish, while the Year 5 A-team made history by becoming the school’s first-ever county champions. This accomplishment showcases the children’s teamwork and determination, especially those who displayed enthusiasm and perseverance throughout, even when competing in multiple races during the event.
Alex, a Year 5 pupil from Histon and Impington Park Primary School, said: “It was a really well organised event with such a positive and friendly atmosphere. It’s great to win something by yourself, but much better to win as a team!”
Jonathan Newman, Headteacher at Histon and Impington Park Primary School, praised the pupils’ achievements: “We are incredibly proud of all our pupils who participated.
