Children and staff at Hatton Park Primary School, part of Meridian Trust, are celebrating a recent Ofsted inspection where it has been rated ‘Good’.
According to the final report on this inspection, the school has the potential to be outstanding at the next inspection.
The findings of this report showed that the school was rated ‘Good’ in all five of Ofsted’s key areas – quality of education, personal development, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management and early years provision.
John Canavan, Headteacher at Hatton Park Primary School, said: “I am delighted with the findings of the report, which highlights the positive learning environment we have created here for all children.
“We aim to provide our children with a place where they can develop and be inspired. It is really pleasing to see the final report reflect this. We are proud of all the children and staff, and particularly grateful for the community we have supporting us.”
- The report praised the school in many different areas:
- Pupils flourish in a caring, safe environment. Pupils develop strong friendships.
- Pupils thrive in a climate where expectations are extremely high. Pupils respond well to these expectations consistently well.
- Pupils behave impeccably. They are polite and respectful.
- Pupils are very happy at school and are extremely well prepared for the next stage in their lives.
- The school has worked collaboratively with trust specialists to develop the curriculum. As a result, it has developed a curriculum that is highly ambitious for all pupils, including those with special needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
- Teachers know exactly what to teach and when. They know what pupils have previously learned. They use this information, alongside high-quality training, to design well-crafted learning experiences.
- Staff are excellent at supporting pupils with SEND. Using the information provided by the SEND team, they make successful adaptations to their teaching. As a result, pupils with SEND achieve very well.
- The school provides a wide range of opportunities to broaden pupils’ wider development. Pupils have opportunities to take part in a variety of activities. These activities are well attended and enable pupils to develop existing interests and foster new ones.
- Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well supported. Staff know that school and trust leaders place high importance on managing their workload. Teachers value the investment in high-quality continuing professional development.
