On Wednesday 2nd March, we were delighted to hold our first ever trust-wide Primary Swimming Gala, making use of the amazing facilities available to us at Academy Leisure Sawtry.
Six schools from across the trust took part in different races and relays, including pupils from Sawtry Junior Academy, Lantern Community Primary School, Oakley Primary Academy, Downham Feoffees Primary Academy, Bar Hill Primary Academy and The Bluecoat School.
We were left in awe of the strength and determination showed by our pupils throughout the competition. Everyone worked together, enjoyed the opportunity to compete and made friends with pupils from other schools.
The winners of each category were as follows:
- Front Crawl: 1st Leonie (SJA) 2nd Evangeline (SJA)
- Back Stroke: 1st Lorenzo (DFPA) 2nd Joseph (Lantern)
- Breast Stroke: 1st Lewis (SJA) 2nd James (SJA)
- Relay: 1st SJA Dolphins, 2nd Lantern
- Overall: 1st SJA Dolphins tied 2nd SJA Sharks and Lantern 2nd
Well done to all the pupils involved, particularly those at Sawtry Junior Academy who were polite and courteous hosts. We can’t wait to start planning for next year.
