CMAT are kicking off 2022 with an exciting series of early evening ‘supper club’ leadership seminars, supported by Whole Education and a hugely accomplished range of experts.
These sessions are designed to help colleagues to explore many of the major themes that dominate the actions and decision making of school leaders. The content will be relevant to colleagues at various career stages and is intended to provoke thought and reflection framed around the values CMAT colleagues share.
Richard Spencer, Executive Principal, said: “We are delighted and honoured to have assembled a hugely accomplished range of experts to share their reflections and wisdom with us over the coming months. I’d like to thank all of them for giving their time so generously.
“I hope that our leaders will take the opportunity to discuss and engage during the sessions, and that they will find the sessions a useful reflective space. Expertise and knowledge as a leader is the product of experience and endeavour, but it is refined and defined by reserving space for the type of thought, discussion and provocation that I hope they will enjoy at the ‘supper club’!”
The sessions will get started on Wednesday 26th January with part one of ‘Being an Effective Leader’. Part two of this session will follow on Wednesday 18th May. Guest Speakers across both sessions will include Sir John Dunford, Sir Tim Brighouse, Professor Mick Waters and Stephen Tierney.
‘Being a CMAT Leader of People’ will be the next session to take place on Wednesday 2nd March with guest speakers including Jonny Uttley, Loic Menzies, Owen Carter and Joe McGinn. This will be followed by ‘Being an outstanding CMAT Leader of CPDL and Curriculum Development’ on Thursday 31st March, with guest speakers Philippa Cordingley and Dr Sue Brindley.
‘Being a kind, caring and courageous CMAT Leader’ will take place on Tuesday 26th April with guest speakers Shonogh Pilgrim and XP Trust and ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Values Led Leadership’ session is on Thursday 9th June with guest speaker Hannah Wilson.
The sessions will all be held online via Teams from 6pm to 8pm and are free to all CMAT colleagues and friends of CMAT. Although they are hosted and recorded ‘live’, we anticipate many colleagues will also view recordings at their own convenience.
