Pupils and staff across CMAT’s academies have been busy fundraising for Children in Need today to help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
At The Lantern Primary Academy in Ely, the day was packed full of fun, learning and feel-good fundraising! Throughout the day, classes took part in lots of exciting activities, many of which focused on developing mindfulness and mental wellbeing.
Goslings, the academy’s pre-school children, enjoyed a trip to the Forest School area where they collected fallen leaves to create a beautiful Pudsey art piece. In Year 2, children took part in a Pudsey drawing tutorial, creating some great work and even helped solve the mystery of Pudsey’s missing eye patch spots in their Maths lesson. The school was abuzz of fundraising Friday vibes and we are proud to say that the academy have raised £473 so far!
Children and staff at the Harrold Primary Academy, near Bedford, enjoyed a non-uniform day with the fantastic student council helping to run a cake sale. Pupils loved taking part in Joe Wicks’ special Children in Need PE lesson and in a mindfulness session with Dr Ranj.
Meanwhile at Northstowe Secondary College, students chose one, two or three funky options of wearing funky hair, funky socks or funky ties, raising almost £300 for the charity.
Sawtry Village Academy students took part in Academy Leisure Sawtry’s 24 hour bikeathon, with several Year 7 students even featuring on CBBC’s Newsround. CEO, Mark Woods, jumped on the bike too, cycling over 14km in his 30 minute stint.
