Pupils and staff from Bluecoat Primary School in Stamford are celebrating after a hugely successful ‘Sports for Schools’ fundraising event.
The event, which was in collaboration with Sports for Schools, saw an impressive £1,900 raised. £1,000 of this will be put towards brand new sports equipment for the pupils at the school. The remaining funds will be allocated to supporting athletes from Sports for Schools so that they continue to inspire our future Olympians.
The school, which is part of Meridian Trust had the privilege of welcoming double Winter Paralympian, Sean Rose to the school. Sean delivered a series of engaging and exciting circuits and events in aid of raising money for new PE equipment. Sean retired from competitive skiing as Britain’s most successful alpine ski racer ever, making this an inspirational experience for all the children involved.
Emma Houlton, Headteacher at Bluecoat Primary School, said: “I am thrilled with the overwhelming success of the Sports for Schools fundraising event. The money that has been raised will be put towards new sports equipment for the children, highlighting our commitment to enhancing sports education for everyone at the school.”
Antonia De Pinto, PE Teacher, and leader of this event, added: “As a school, we recognise the importance of Physical Education inspiring all of our pupils to excel in a happy and healthy lifestyle. The success of this event was an incredibly proud moment, and we are so thankful to everyone who joined together to make it as successful as it was.”
