Secondary schools across Meridian Trust take part in Autumn Languagenut Competition

The ‘Autumn Languagenut competition’ was launched last term (on 1st November) throughout the Trust’s Secondary schools: Sharnbrook Academy, Nene Park Academy, Ely College, Swavesey Village College, Stratton Upper School, North Cambridge Academy, The Ferrers School and Stamford Welland Academy.

All students in KS3 and KS4 took part in the six-week long competition, which involved scoring points on the Languagenut Programme by completing vocabulary, grammar and verb conjugation exercises in modern foreign languages.

Ines McMahon said “The purpose of a resource like Languagenut is to help foster an element of independent learning among our students, as well as to support the progress they’re making.

Languagenut is a digital language learning resource designed to support teachers and students along their language learning journey.
“It’s a fabulous new resource for us and the students are enjoying the fun and engaging format” added Mrs McMahon.

Each of the participating schools contributed towards the three prizes, of vouchers for the students with the highest points gained in each language (French, Spanish and German).
